A Tire Chip layer is used for lateral water dispersion throughout the land fill.
A Tire Chip layer is sandwiched between a layer of waste underneath and soil on top to collect methane gas from decomposing waste. The Tire Chip layer has a porosity of over 50%.
The methane gas is burned off. Plans call for the capture and use of the methane gas as a heat source.
